The SAS/SHARE driver for JDBC enables you
to access and update SAS data through Java programs. This version
of our driver complies with the Java Database
Connectivity (JDBC) API 2.0 specification from Sun Microsystems.
You can have easy access to both remote SAS data
(through a SAS/SHARE server) and
data from other database management systems (through a
SAS/SHARE server and a SAS/ACCESS interface).
Using our driver, you can create Web pages
like the ones shown here and give users interactive access to SAS data
without having SAS software installed on the client machine.
(While the SAS/SHARE driver for JDBC can be used
to create Java applets, applications, and servlets
this documentation focuses primarily on applet development.)
