Problem Note 67052: The CTR XML validation process in SAS® Anti-Money Laundering fails to detect special characters in subject information in the CTR XML report

DetailsAboutRate It

FinCEN implemented a data validation rule for the Currency Transaction Report (CTR XML) back in April 2019 that prohibits leading or trailing spaces, carriage returns, line feeds, and horizontal tabs in submitted data.

You might have noticed that the CTR XML e-file validation in SAS® Enterprise Case Management does not check for these special characters in the subject information fields (for example, Individual's last name or entity's legal name, First name, Middle name, Suffix, Alternate name) in the Edit Person section of the CTRX report. That can cause the CTRX e-file to be rejected by FinCEN.

This issue is fixed in the SAS Enterprise Case Management B1Y007 hot fix.
