In SAS Life Science Analytics Framework 5.2.x, if you open a SAS data set and scroll or position yourself in the data set at a point which is beyond the number of observations that would display once a filter is applied, the screen will appear to be empty after the filter is actually applied.
For example, if you scroll down in a SAS data set to observation 1500, then apply a filter that returns 200 observations, the resulting view appears to be empty.
In many cases a screen refresh or "paging up" in the data set will resolve the issue and enable you to view the filtered observations.
However, in order to always avoid the issue, the best practice recommendation is to ensure you are positioned at the top of the data set before you apply any filter criteria.
The issue is fixed in SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 5.3.
