Problem Note 65515: Links that use protocols other than HTTP fail to open in SAS® Visual Analytics

Overview
In SAS Visual Analytics, if you create a link that uses any protocol other than HTTP, the link does not work. You see an error in the browser that is similar to the following display. In this example, the link was created using the MAILTO protocol. The link failed because http:// was incorrectly appended to the URL.
The exact error depends on your browser and release of SAS Visual Analytics. Here is an example of another error you might see in release 7.5 of SAS® Visual Analytics Viewer. In release 7.5, this problem does not occur in SAS® Visual Analytics Designer.
Resolution
The resolution depends on your release of SAS Visual Analytics.
- A hot fix is available for SAS® Visual Analytics on SAS® Viya®. Click the Hot Fix tab in this note for a link to instructions about accessing and applying the software update.
- Currently, the only way to use a MAILTO link in release 7.5 is to use SAS Visual Analytics Designer. Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
