Problem Note 64674: SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Microsoft SQL Server can take a long time to connect when you use Availability groups
SAS can take a long time to connect when using SQL Server availability groups with SAS/ACCESS Interface to Microsoft SQL Server. The problem occurs if the primary server is down and SAS has to connect with the next member of the availability group. SAS eventually connects, but it takes several minutes.
To work around the problem, install the latest DataDirect ODBC drivers found on the Hot Fix Downloads page.
- If you are running SAS® 9.4M4 (TS1M4), install the 9.41 version.
- If you are running SAS® 9.4M5 (TS1M5), install the 9.42 version.
- If you are running SAS® 9.4M6 (TS1M6), install the 9.43 version.

When you use SAS/ACCESS Interface to Microsoft SQL Server, it can take a long time to connect when using SQL Server Availability groups. The problem is fixed with the latest version of the SAS/ACCESS Interface to Microsoft SQL Server driver.
