Problem Note 57324: The path for the monitoring logs is not created when you deploy the SAS® Visual Analytics Administrator web application on a middle-tier node

When you deploy the SAS Visual Analytics 7.x Administrator web application on a horizontal middle-tier node, the following path fails to be created by the configuration process:

SAS-configuration-directory/LevN/Applications/SASVisualAnalytics/VisualAnalyticsAdministrator/Monit oring/Logs

Because this path is not created, when you start a SAS® LASR™ server and attempt to view the Last Action logs in the 7.x Administrator, you receive this error message:

No last action log available.

This message is generated when you attempt to view the logs and your session is using the middle-tier node.

In addition, the SASServer12_1 log for the middle-tier node displays an error similar to the following:

2015-07-22 13:41:17,594 [tomcat-http--5] ERROR [ST-24424-BFUSG2mpEaHAcfUbFhug-cassasdemo] com.sas.bicommon.admin.services.server.impl.VAAdministratorService - SAS-configuration-directory/Lev1/Applications/SASVisualAnalytics/VisualAnalyticsAdministrat or/Monitoring/Logs/B100000N.log (No such file or directory)

To resolve this issue:

  1. After configuration of the middle-tier node is complete, manually create the path on each middle-tier node machine that has a cluster for SAS Visual Analytics. Also, ensure that all SAS Visual Analytics administrators have Read/Write permission for the directory.
  2. Restart SASServer12 on the middle-tier node or nodes.
