Installation Note 52647: The SAS® 9.4 Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server Configuration might fail if the database administrator account includes special characters

DetailsAboutRate It

The configuration of the SAS 9.4 Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server might fail if the database administrator account specified in the SAS® Deployment Wizard contains special characters.

When the failure occurs, a message similar to the following is displayed in the webinfdsvrc_configure_datetime.log:

[exec] FATAL: role "domain\user-ID" does not exist [exec] STATEMENT: ALTER USER "domain\user-ID" WITH PASSWORD E'Abc123'; [exec] [exec] child process exited with exit code 1

The SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server database administrator account is not a host or domain account. The account is internal to the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server database and is created when the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server database is configured. The default value for the database administrator account is dbmsowner. It is recommended that you keep the default value. If you choose to change the database administrator account on the SAS Web Infrastructure Platform Data Server panel of the SAS Deployment Wizard, do not include special characters in the account name.

To correct this issue, close the SAS Deployment Wizard, remove the failed configuration, and then reconfigure using a database administrator account name that does not contain a special character.

For more information about removing the failed configuration, see the "Removing a SAS Configuration" section of the SAS® 9.4 Intelligence Platform Installation and Configuration Guide.

For instructions on performing the configuration again, see the "Configuring SAS Products" section of the SAS® 9.4 Intelligence Platform Installation and Configuration Guide.
