Problem Note 49346: The SAS® Real-Time Decision Manager arbitration process might log an "RTDMTimeoutException" error message and fail to finish

SAS Real-Time Decision Manager enables you to perform arbitration on a set of prospective treatments. However, the arbitration process might not finish if the treatment set contains many treatment campaigns. When the arbitration process does not finish, an error similar to the following is written in the log:

com.sas.analytics.ph.RTDMTimeoutException: Execution with timeout did not
complete in: XXXXXXms

Note: Hot Fix E88007 provided a fix for this issue, but it introduced a potential problem. The problem occurs when two or more copies of the same treatment have identical numeric custom details. Character and date custom details are not checked for differences. The presumed identical copies are incorrectly removed.

To work around this issue, add the following JVM option to the web application server start-up command:

-Dcom.sas.analytics.crm.skip_dedupe=true

This option causes the de-duplication step to be skipped entirely.

This problem has been fixed in later hot fixes that are now available on the Hot Fix tab. If you implemented the workaround above, you should remove the option -Dcom.sas.analytics.crm.skip_dedupe=true when you apply Hot Fix E88008 or later.
