Problem Note 47195: Japanese data is truncated when it is stored on a SAS Unicode server

When Japanese data is extracted from an SAP system and stored in a data set on a SAS Unicode server, the data values are truncated.
The truncation occurs because the number of bytes that are required to store a character is different between Shift-JIS encoded data and UTF-8 encoded data.
