Problem Note 30537: SAS MDX isEmpty function will not evaluate cells containing character data

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

The MDX function defined by the SAS OLAP Server will only evaluate numeric or null cells. If a cell containing a character value is passed to the function, an MDX error will be returned.

Since the SAS Java clients make use of the isEmpty function when evaluating totals, any measure column which contains a character string will cause an error. The only workarounds available for this behavior are to not use totalling when displaying a measure that contains a character string, or to convert the character string to a numeric value when appropriate.
