By default, the following special characters are not allowed to be part of your HCM login password: # % @ ! $ ^ & * ( ) _ + = - ` `| \ ] [ } { : ; ? / . > , < " A site may override this default to allow for the use of these characters in a login password. These characters can be overridden by using the properties key Invalid_Characters.notrans in the HRVresourceBundle.properties. The default value for this key is the character string above. If the Invalid_Characters.notrans key is present in the HRVresourceBundle.properties file, the contents of the string dictates which characters are excluded for use in the login password. Thus, if you add to or remove from the character string within the Invalid_Characters.notrans key, you are altering which characters are valid for the login password. If the Invalid_Characters.notrans key is removed entirely from the HRVresourceBundle.properties file, the default character string noted above is then in place. In your install, open the hrv.jar file in the WEB-INF directory and extract the HRVResourceBundle.properties file into the WEB-INF\class\com\sas\hrv\res directory. Edit the Invalid_Characters.notrans key within the HRVResourceBundle.properties file as necessary. Save your file and restart your web server to accept your newly edited file.
