SAS® Administration from the Ground Up: Running the SAS®9 Platform in a Metadata Server Environment

There are some books that belong on every SAS programmer’s bookshelf. From The Little SAS® Book by Lora Delwiche and Susan Slaughter to Carpenter’s Complete Guide to the SAS® Macro Language by Art Carpenter, these are the kind of books that experienced and novice SAS Users will go back to time and time again. Although it is meant for a more targeted audience than the other two books I just mentioned, Fischer’s book on SAS Administration will become a key resource and one that I would personally recommend to anyone responsible for administration of a SAS environment. This book covers all aspects of maintenance and administration, from the basics like the overview of the infrastructure right up to significantly more complex (and often overlooked) aspects like security and backups.  This book will hold a place of significance on my bookshelf, and I will be going back to it repeatedly.
