The Select
Columns page in the SAP BW Register Tables wizard enables you to specify
which column metadata you want to write to your metadata repository.
You can select columns from each InfoCube that you selected in the
Select InfoObjects page
or from the ODS table that you selected in the
SAP BW Browser page.
You can select all columns in the tables or a specified combination
of columns. Selecting only the columns that you want enables you to
reduce the time required to extract the InfoCube or ODS table data
and also minimizes the disk space required to store the data.
The Select
Columns page in the SAP BW Register Tables wizard contains the following
items:
displays an alphabetical
list of tables that are defined in the ODS object or InfoCube that
you selected in the previous page
displays a list of
the columns that are associated with the selected tables. Metadata
such as the field name, field text, field format, and so on, is listed
for each column. By default, all columns are selected. If you do not
want to include a column when you are writing metadata to the metadata
repository, deselect the check box beside the field name that is associated
with the column.
The Select
Columns page in the SAP BW Register Tables wizard contains the following
buttons:
selects all columns
that are associated with the selected tables.
deselects any columns
that you selected for the tables in the Selected tables list.
selects all columns
that are not currently selected and deselects all that are currently
selected.
