The SAP
BW Browser page provides a navigation tree that enables you to browse
metadata that is extracted from your SAP BW System. The SAP BW Browser
page displays metadata for all data sources that you included when
you extracted SAP BW metadata. Data sources include InfoAreas, ODS
objects, and basic and aggregate InfoCubes.
Browsing
through the SAP BW metadata helps you learn more about the logical
structure of your SAP Business Information Warehouse and about the
data that is stored in your SAP BW System. You can use this information
to identify the specific ODS objects and InfoCubes that you want to
identify as data sources in SAS Data Integration Studio. You can also
use the SAP BW Browser window to select ODS objects and InfoCubes
that contain data that you want to extract to SAS data sets.
The SAP
BW Browser page contains the following items:
displays a hierarchical
navigation tree of the InfoAreas, ODS objects, and basic and aggregate
InfoCubes for which you have extracted metadata. MultiCubes and remote
cubes are not included in the navigation tree. Each InfoArea can consist
of one or more ODS objects and InfoCubes. However, some InfoAreas
might be empty.
For more information about the InfoArea navigation tree,
see SAP BW Browser: Navigation Tree.
displays buttons that
enable you to perform actions such as displaying the tables that are
included in the selected ODS object or InfoCube or displaying the
data model that is associated with a selected InfoCube. Buttons on
this toolbar are enabled or disabled depending on whether you have
selected an ODS object or InfoCube in the InfoArea navigation tree.
If you select an InfoCube, you can display the related data model,
tables, and InfoObjects. If you select an ODS object, you can display
either the data within the table or the metadata that is associated
with that table.
For more information about these buttons, see SAP BW Browser: Toolbar.
