W-O-W: Data Warehouse, SAS and the WEB

Abstract
Although our operational systems are very adept at processing transactions they don’t lend themselves to ad-hoc reportage or analysis. Operational and senior management need distilled information from these systems for effective decision making. We were tasked to deploy a Decision Support System for executive level program surveillance and On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP). We designed a Data Warehouse with the SAS system, running in a Client/Server configuration (UNIX & Windows 95), SAS/OR, with output distributed across the World Wide Web (WWW), to accomplish this task.
