If you are running SAS Visual Analytics on SAS^® Viya^® in a non-English locale, then geo regions are not displayed for both predefined geographic names and code, as well as custom polygonal shapes. The message that appears in the bottom right corner of the geo region map is similar to this one:

Even though this message refers to a "custom map provider," it might appear even when you are using predefined geographic names and codes.

As a workaround, change the locale for the Maps service to en_US. To implement the workaround, add the following JVM properties for the Maps service by following the instructions in SAS Note 60681, "Using SAS^® Environment Manager to add JVM properties to SAS^® Viya™ services":
