Installation Note 61484: The SAS® 9.4 Compliance Solutions Mid-Tier web application fails to start after you upgrade to SAS® Anti-Money Laundering 7.1
After you upgrade to SAS Anti-Money Laundering 7.1, your SAS Compliance Solutions Mid-Tier web application might fail to start. When this failure occurs, you might see the following error messages in the SASServer8 server.log:
2017-11-27 16:44:13,281 INFO (main) [org.apache.catalina.startup.Catalina] Server startup in 132302 ms
2017-11-27 16:44:29,599 ERROR (tomcat-http--2) [org.apache.catalina.core.ContainerBase.[Catalina].[localhost].[/SASComplianceSolutionsMid].[default]] Servlet.service() for servlet [default] in context with path [SASComplianceSolutionsMid] threw exception com.sas.framework.config.ApplicationNotFoundException: Application 'Compliance Solutions Mid' does not exist. Is it appropriately registered for the underlying data implementation? at com.sas.framework.config.impl.ConfigurationService.getApplication(ConfigurationService.java:91)
To address this issue, perform the following steps:
- Use SAS® Deployment Manager to rebuild and redeploy the SAS Compliance Solutions Mid-Tier web application. This step removes data-source information for FCFBU2 and all other business units, effectively restoring the application to the default state after configuration.
- Execute the middle-tier ANT script for every business unit (except for the first business unit--FCFBU1) to reconfigure the data sources for each business units accordingly. You must perform this step since step 1 reverts the web application to the default state.
To execute the ANT scripts:
- Stop the web-application server.
- Run the following ANT script (available in the $FCFMIDBASE/FCFBUn/config directory) for every business unit.
ant -logfile midtier_uip.log
If you encounter any issue when you perform the steps above, contact SAS Technical Support.
