DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

Several issues have occurred that are related to Windows 8.1 Update 1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 Update 1. This SAS Note describes the issues and, where available, the workarounds and hot fixes for handling the resulting conditions.

Issues

Issue 1: When you attempt to install SAS® 9.3 (TS1M2) revision 13w18 or later, SAS® 9.4 (TS1M0), or SAS® 9.4 (TS1M1)

After you apply Windows 8.1 Update 1 or Windows Server 2012 R2 Update 1 and attempt to install SAS 9.3 (TS1M2) revision 13w18 or later, SAS 9.4 (TS1M0), or SAS 9.4 (TS1M1), this error message might appear:

The SAS Deployment Wizard is not able to proceed with the installation.
A possible reason is that the software order you are installing was subsetted from the original order,
but the operating system you are installing the software on was not included in the subset process.
Provide this error message to the person who gave you the software. If this does not resolve the problem,
contact SAS Technical Support for assistance.

Here is another error message that might appear:

You’ve attempted to install software intended for one operating system on a
machine using a different operating system. You should either install on a machine using the
operating system you downloaded for or return to the download site and download the appropriate
software for your operating system.

During installation, the only installation log created is the C:\Users\installer-user-ID\AppData\Local\SAS\SASDeploymentWizard\setuptimestamp.log file. No sdwtimestamp.log file is created.

Issue 2: When you already have Java clients from SAS 9.3 (TS1M2) revision 13w18 or later, SAS 9.4 (TS1M0), or SAS 9.4 (TS1M1) installed

If any Java clients from SAS 9.3 (TS1M2) revision 13w18 or later, SAS 9.4 (TS1M0), or SAS 9.4 (TS1M1) are already installed and you apply Windows 8.1 Update 1 or Windows Server 2012 R2 Update 1 and then invoke the SAS Java clients, this error message might appear:

This application does not support your platform.

Issue 3: The SAS® Download Manager 1.58 might fail

Another reported issue is that the SAS Download Manager 1.58 fails if Update 1 has been applied. The same error shown above occurs:

This application does not support your platform.

Issue 4: The SAS® Enterprise Guide® 6.1 and SAS® Add-In 6.1 for Microsoft Office Independent Installers might fail

Another reported issue is that the SAS Enterprise Guide 6.1 and SAS Add-In 6.1 for Microsoft Office independent installation (the stand-alone executables) fail to install if Update 1 has been applied. The same error shown above occurs:

This application does not support your platform.

Issue 5: Downloadable products do not launch

This application does not support your platform.

These are the affected products:
