Problem Note 44122: Performance degradation can occur when opening information maps in SAS® Enterprise Guide® and the SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

SAS Enterprise Guide and the SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office use the Information Maps LIBNAME engine to open information maps. In order to open the information map, the generated code might be executed entirely locally, or it might be executed both locally and remotely. When code is executed remotely, you see the following message in the SAS log.

The Information Maps LIBNAME Engine is retrieving data via a remote connection. Performance is not optimized.

Sometimes when the code is executed remotely, you might experience especially poor performance.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

Note: Sometimes the code correctly executes remotely. For example, the code executes remotely if the information map is associated with a stored process. It also executes remotely under the conditions described in SAS Note 38948.
