Installation Note 39421: A reboot-pending message might recur when you are installing SAS® software for the Windows Operating Environment when Logitech software is installed
When you are installing SAS software, you are prompted to reboot your computer. After you reboot your computer, the reboot-pending message might appear again, which seems to be in an endless loop. This issue can happen if you have Logitech software installed on your computer. Logitech devices place registry entries in the PendingFileRenameOperations entry.
To solve this issue, follow the steps below.
Caution: Always back up your registry before you make any changes to it. Changes to the Microsoft Windows registry can render your system unusable and require that you reinstall your operating system. SAS is not responsible when you edit the Windows registry. For more information about backing up your registry, see Windows Help or the Microsoft Web site.
- Open the Windows Registry Editor.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager.
- Locate PendingFileRenameOperations and double-click the entry to open the Edit Multi-String window.
- Under Value data, remove the following entries:
*\??\C:\Windows\TEMP\logishrd\LVPrcInj01.dll
*\??\C:\Windows\TEMP\logishrd\
- Restart your SAS installation.
