Installation Note 39000: An error occurs when you try to refresh the diagram tools or to reset the channels in the SAS® Management Console plug-in
When you try to refresh the diagram tools or to reset the channels in the SAS Management Console plug-in for SAS® Customer Intelligence, the following error occurs:
The SAS metadata system is not available. Please contact
your System Administrator.
You access the tools or channels in the plug-in as follows:
- Application Resources ► Diagram Tools
- Administration Resources ► Channels
This error occurs because the SAS Remote Services are started as Local System Account in the Services window (accessed via Start ► Settings ► Control Panel ► Administrative Tools ► Services). To use the diagram tools and the channels, you must start the SAS Remote Services as Administrator Account (for example, as is done with the .\sas account).
This problem happens because the setup.exe file for the SAS® Deployment Wizard is not started explicitly with the Run as Administrator property selected. Even if you are the administrator of the machine, you still must right-click the setup.exe file and select that property from the menu that appears.
