Installation Note 39551: SASĀ® Customer Intelligence 5.3 fails in the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 operating environment after configuration
Under Windows Server 2008, SAS Customer Intelligence 5.3 fails after configuration.
The specific issues and error messages that occur in SAS Customer Intelligence 5.3 are documented for related problems in SAS Note 39000, "An error occurs when you try to refresh the diagram tools or to reset the channels in the SAS® Management Console plug-in," and in SAS Note 39001, "An error occurs in the MACore log when you refresh or reset the diagram tools and channels in the SAS® Management Console plug-in Console."
To avoid these problems:
- Before you start the installation of SAS Customer Intelligence 5.3, it is recommended that you disable the User Account Control (UAC). Turning off the UAC is not mandatory, but other issues can occur if it is not disabled. In particular, when you start the middle-tier server, an enabled UAC displays prompts that can
interfere with using scripts to automate steps. To disable the UAC, follow these steps:
- Select Start ► Control Panel ► User Accounts ► User Accounts.
- In the User Accounts tasks window, click Turn User Account Control on or off. If the UAC is currently configured in Admin Approval Mode, the User Account Control message appears. Click Continue.
- Clear the check box labeled Use User Account Control (UAC) to
help protect your computer. Then click OK.
- Click Restart Now to apply the change immediately, or click Restart Later and close the User Accounts tasks window.
- Right-click the setup.exe file for the SAS® Deployment Wizard and select the Run as Administrator property from the menu that appears. Even if you are the administrator of the machine, you still need to make sure that this property is selected.
