When you apply hot fixes to SAS installations in which you use the -forceinstall option, the following error might appear:

Either this package is not applicable for the current platform, 
or this product cannot be found on your system, so the updates 
contained in this bundle will not be installed.

The problem occurs because the deployment registry is not properly updated via the installation of the SAS software for which the hot fix is intended.

To resolve this issue, see SAS Note 36641, "The subsequent application of hot fixes and maintenance packages might fail if you used the -forceinstall option during a SAS^® 9.2 installation."

This issue has been fixed in SAS 9.2 Revision 09w32 and later. Revision 09w32 was released in August 2009. For more information about revisions of SAS, see SAS Note 35627, "Determining your SAS^® 9.2 release."
