When you are installing SAS 9.2 on the Windows operating system, the installation might fail at the System Requirements Wizard, while installing the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

If this happens, send the following files from C:\Documents and Settings\<your userid>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAS\SAS Deployment Wizard to help diagnose this:

• sdw.log
• bootstrap.log

To correct this problem, try to manually install the JRE, using these steps:

1. Point to your SAS Software Depot.
   
   
2. Depending on your operating system, run the following setup from the products directory:

   For Windows 32-bit on x86

   products\javaruntime__9270__win__en__sp0__1\jre-1_5_0_12-windows-i586-p.exe

   For Windows 64-bit on x86-64

   products\javaruntime__9270__wx6__en__sp0__1\jre-1_5_0_12-windows-i586-p.exe

   For Windows 64-bit on Itanium

   products\javaruntime__9260__w64__en__sp0__1\jrockit-R27.1.0-jre1.5.0_08-windows-ipf.exe
   
   

3. Once the proper JRE has been installed, restart the installation.
