Java Runtime Environments for SASŪ 9.2 Foundation and SASŪ Client Applications
SASŪ 9.2 Foundation and some SASŪ 9.2 Client Applications require the use of a Java Runtime Environment (JRE). These JRE are provided by Sun Microsystems, IBM, BEA, and HP. The following table lists the versions of the JRE that are recommended for use with SASŪ 9.2 and will be installed by the SASŪ Deployment Wizard depending on the platform where the installation is occurring. The JRE may also be obtained directly from the vendors listed in the table.Application servers and servlet engines require a full Java Software Development Kit (JDK). See the next section for a list of Java Development Kits required by supported application servers.

Web Browsers
The table below lists the browsers that are supported for use with SASŪ 9.2 Foundation.
For the UNIX, VMS, and MVS platforms, the SASŪ 9.2 Foundation assumes that users will use the Remote Browser Server to display Help and Online Documentation and to view ODS HTML output. The Remote Browser Server would then run on the user's desktop Windows or Linux machine and use one of the browsers listed in the table below to display output.
For the Windows platforms, the SASŪ 9.2 Foundation uses Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox for wbrowse and can use either Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox or an embedded browser to display ODS results.
