Problem Note 33894: Excel returns an incorrect cell reference using the Analysis Toolpak
When the Microsoft Analysis Toolpak is in use, you might encounter an incorrect
cell reference in Excel when using the Analysis Toolpak features.
Although the incorrect cell reference is not directly caused by SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office, disabling or unloading it can correct the problem.
See SAS Note 16844,
"Missing SASĀ® menu in MS Excel for SASĀ® Add-In for Microsoft Office,"
for instructions to present the COM Add-Ins menu to unload SAS for the
SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office.
Another workaround would be to do the following with Excel open:
- Click Tools ► Data Analysis,
and then immediately click Cancel.
- Then click Tools ► Data Analysis and continue normally
The problem is in the Analysis Toolpak. You are most likely to encounter the problem when it first loads, as in step 1 above. The problem does not occur on the second pass, so in step 2, the problem does not present itself in the Analysis Toolpak. You do not have to unload SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office to use this workaround.
