Usage Note 24259: I have a single-machine, single-user Windows installation of SAS Web Report Studio. I changed my Windows password and my applications aren't working as expected. Do I need to change my password elsewhere?
If you have a single-machine, single-user configuration of SAS Web Report Studio on the Windows platform, and you changed your Windows password after SAS Web Report Studio was installed, then you will need to update the password in a few additional places.
Perform the following steps to update the password information in your SAS installation.
Change your passwords for the SAS metadata repository and SAS Object Spawner. For instructions, see Usage Note 24258, which describes the steps for changing the passwords for these SAS BI Server components.
Change your password for SAS Web Report Studio.
Use a text editor to open the wrs.config file that is located in your SAS Web Report Studio 2.1 installation directory.
Replace all instances of your password (which, if encrypted, begins either with the string {sas001} or {sasenc}) with your new plain text or encrypted password.
Save the wrs.config file.
Create a new SASWebReportStudio.war file by running the sas.wrs.config.bat file that is located in your SAS Web Report Studio installation directory.
Stop Apache Tomcat from by selecting Start Programs Apache Tomcat 4.1 Stop Tomcat from the Windows Desktop, or if it is configured as a service, stop Apache Tomcat from the Windows Computer Management window.
Copy the SASWebReportStudio.war file from the SAS Web Report Studio installation directory to the webapps subdirectory that is located in the Apache Tomcat 4.1 installation directory. The following paths are example locations of the Apache Tomcat installation directory:
C:\SASTomcat
C:\Tomcat41
Delete the SASWebReportStudio subdirectory that is located in the webapps subdirectory.
Restart your machine.
Restart Apache Tomcat.
Ensure that Apache Tomcat is fully initialized and then restart SAS Web Report Studio.
