Users might not be able to connect to a server because:

• If the applet uses the tunnel feature, you might not have the correct information defined in the tunnel configuration file. See usage note #24088 for more information.

• If this applet uses the SAS/CONNECT driver:

  • The problem might be a general connection/communication problem. See usage note #24075 for more information.

  • The connection parameters might not be specified correctly. See Connecting to a Remote SAS Session for more information on how to specify the prompts and responses that your connection (telnet) daemon expects.

  • If your connection daemon uses a command prompt that changes periodically, the value you specify for the command prompt parameter should consist of only the portion of the prompt that remains the same for each login. For example, if your connection daemon sends a command prompt like

       cmd[253]$
    

    and only the numeric portion of the prompt changes for each login, then you could use

       cmd

    as the value for the command prompt parameter value in the applet HTML file.
