Usage Note 18638: Renewing the license for Platform Job Scheduler 5.31 and Platform Suite for SAS releases
This SAS Note documents how to renew the license for the following Platform Job Scheduler and Platform Suite for SAS Versions.
- Platform Job Scheduler 5.31
- Platform Suite for SAS 2.1 (includes Process Manager 3.0 and LSF 6.0)
- Platform Suite for SAS 3.1 (includes Process Manager 3.1 and LSF 6.2)
- Platform Suite for SAS 4.1 (includes Process Manager 7.0 and LSF 7.02)
- Platform Suite for SAS 5.1 (includes Process Manager 7.1 and LSF 7.05)
1) First rename the file PLATFORMJSnnnn.TXT or LSF92_xxxxx_xxxxxxxx to LICENSE.DAT.
2) Place new file, license.dat in 2 Locations based on OS and Product Version.
For Windows servers:
Platform Job Scheduler 5.31

-- C:\Program Files\Platform Computing\JobScheduler\conf
Process Manager 3.x or 7.x
-- C:\Program Files\Platform Computing\Platform Process Manager\conf
LSF 6.x or 7.x

For UNIX servers:
For Platform Job Scheduler version 5.31
- JS_TOP/conf/js.conf
where JS_TOP is the install directory for Platform Job Scheduler 5.31
- LSF_TOP/conf/lsf.conf
where LSF_TOP is the install directory
For Process Manager 3.x or 7.x
- JS_TOP/conf/js.conf
where JS_TOP is the install directory for Process Manager 3.x or 7.x
For LSF 6.x or 7.x
- LSF_TOP/conf/lsf.conf
where LSF_TOP is the install directory
3) Restart the services
- If you are running Windows, you need to restart Windows Services:
LSF Cluster1 Lim
LSF Cluster1 Res
LSF Cluster1 SBD
Platform Job Scheduler version 5.31 or Platform Process Manager
version 3.x or 7.x
A reboot of the Windows server may be required, if restarting the above Windows services does not update the license information.
If you are running UNIX, you will need to restart the processes:
As the root user, make sure you source the profile. Then issue the following commands on the command line.
badmin hshutdown
lsadmin resshutdown
lsadmin limshutdown
jadmin stop
lsadmin limstartup
lsadmin resstartup
badmin hstartup
jadmin start
To obtain a Platform Computing license file, named PLATFORMJSnnnn.TXT,
refer to SAS Note 024546.
