The Portal Visual Data Explorer and SAS Web OLAP Viewer for Java allow you to open cubes using the File -> Open dialog. To disable this, apply the hotfix or upgrade to a fixed release, and then edit the configuration as described below. Instructions are provide below for SAS Web OLAP Viewer and the Portal.

SAS Web OLAP Viewer

To disable the ability to open cubes in SAS Web OLAP Viewer for Java, follow the directions in the online documentation for customizing SAS Web OLAP Viewer for Java. The FileOpen element in the configuration file should be changed so that cube display is set to false, as shown here

SAS Information Delivery Portal

To disable the ability to open cubes in the SAS Information Delivery Portal, you must edit the web.xml.orig file from the Portal installation. The servlet entry for the InformationMapViewerServlet must be edited so that it includes the following init-param value. If other init-param values already exist, just add this init-param value below the other init-param entries in the servlet element. The servlet entry should look similar to the following when you are finished.

	    <param-name>allowOpeningCubes</param-name>

	</servlet>

After making this change, the Portal web application must be rebuilt and redeployed. The instructions below provide the file location, and steps for rebuilding the applications depending on version.

SAS Information Delivery Portal 2.0

1. To edit the file, follow the procedure described in the following page of the SAS Web Infrastructure Kit Administrator's Guide.
