Usage Note 12424: "Size of ROLAP dataset too large" error might occur in SAS® Web Report Studio
Overview
When displaying results in a crosstabulation table that is based on relational data, you might see the following error message:
Size of ROLAP dataset too large: Configured tuple limit is 2,500
By default, the table is limited to 2500 observations. As a workaround, you can increase this limit by changing the maximum tuple count value.
SAS Web Report Studio 4.2 and later
To set this property, make the following changes to the SAS Web Report Studio properties in SAS® Management Console.
- On the Plug-ins tab, navigate to Application Management ► Configuration Manager ► (SAS Application Infrastructure ►) Web Report Studio 4.x.
- Right-click and select Properties to open the Web Report Studio 4.x Properties dialog box.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click Add to open the Define New Property dialog box.
- For the Property Name, enter
.vmwide.com.sas.iquery.dataservices.ProcSummaryROLAPBuilder.MAX_TUPLE_COUNT
- For the Property Value, enter a value greater than
2500
.
CAUTION: Any limit higher than 2500 can negatively impact middle-tier server performance, and might cause your server to run out of resources. Do not set this limit any higher than you need it to be.
- Click OK twice to exit both dialog boxes and save the changes.
- To enforce the change, restart your web application server.
SAS Web Report Studio 3.1
Note: If you do not have a LocalProperties.xml file, see SAS Note 32858.
If you already have a LocalProperties.xml file, then follow these steps:
- Open your
LocalProperties.xml
file in a text editor.
- For the following property, change the maximum tuple count value from
2500
to a larger number.
CAUTION: Any limit higher than 2500 can negatively impact middle-tier server performance, and might cause your server to run out of resources. Do not set this limit any higher than you need it to be.
Note: If the file does not contain this property, then you must enter this information manually.
<!-- The following property specifies how many 'tuples' in a ROLAP-->
<!-- (crosstab) report is too many to try to render. -->

|
- Restart your servlet container (JBOSS, Tomcat, Websphere, or Weblogic).
