Additional Checklist for DCOLLECT

DCOLLECT, or the DFSMS Data Collection Facility, is a feature of MVS/DFP (Release 3.2 or later) and DFHSM (Release 2.4 with APARs or Release 2.5 or later). It generates data to help you manage storage space for your systems. There are several types of data that you can ask DCOLLECT to generate:

• Information about active datasets, both VSAM and non-VSAM
  
  
• Information about active disk volumes
  
  
• Information about SMS classes and constructs
  
  
• Information about dataset migration
  
  
• Information about tape and DASD capacity planning.
