Note: SAS Visual Scenario Designer 6.3 ships with SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting, which must be installed with SAS Visual Scenario Designer; it cannot be installed at a later time.
SAS Visual Scenario Designer Server includes two SAS/ACCESS engines of choice.
Hot Fix W67001 for SAS LASR Server 2.7 is required. You can download it here (rolled into Hot Fix W67001): http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/HF2/W67.html.
In addition, Hot Fix W02004 is required. Download it here: http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/HF2/W02.html#W02004
Run the SAS Deployment Manager to extract and deploy Hot Fix W02004. A separate grid installer is included. Be sure to run it in order to apply the cmpext.so to the current grid installation. For more information about the grid installer, see the "Post-Installation Instructions" section of the following document (for a Linux host): http://ftp.sas.com/techsup/download/hotfix/HF2/W/W02/W02004/xx/lax/W02004la.html.
SAS LASR Analytic Server requires the installation of Teradata (appliance obtained from vendor) or Hadoop (commodity hardware).
Apache Hadoop software is distributed with SAS software as a convenience. For support information, see http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/ApacheHadoopSupport.html.
SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.
To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.
Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.
SAS recommends a minimum screen resolution setting of 1280 x 1024 on client computers that are used to access SAS Visual Scenario Designer.
SAS also recommends a minimum of 4 GB of RAM for the Client Tier.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, SAS Visual Scenario Designer 6.3 supports only Internet Explorer version 11 or higher. For information about other supported web browsers and supported web browser plug-ins, see the following page: http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/index.html.
