Note: SAS Risk Stratum delivers three tiers of capabilities – Governance, Computation, and Enterprise – to match your needs. Each level builds on the previous one to form a complete risk management framework. This minimizes any redundancy in functionality and enables you to invest in the capabilities you need when required.
Important: SAS Risk Stratum: Enterprise system requirements applies to SAS Risk Stratum: Computation as well. SAS Risk Stratum: Governance system requirements are the same as the SAS Risk Governance Framework 7.4 System Requirements.
SAS Risk Stratum Core is a required content solution package for the SAS Risk Stratum: Computation and SAS Risk Stratum: Enterprise tiers and requires the following products to be installed first (with the latest hotfixes).
Available on SAS Risk Stratum: Enterprise - (all are optional and separately licensed). SAS Asset and Liability Management for Banking Server, SAS Solution for CECL, SAS Solution for IFRS 9, SAS Solution for Regulatory Capital, and SAS Solution for Stress Testing.
Available on SAS Risk Stratum: Computation or Enterprise - (all are optional and separately licensed). SAS Solution for IFRS 17, SAS Solution for LDTI, and SAS Solution for Solvency II.
Available on SAS Risk Stratum: Governance, Computation or Enterprise - (all are optional and separately licensed). SAS Governance and Compliance Management and SAS Model Risk Management.
Note: For combinations of risk solutions on the same SAS Risk Stratum platform, it is recommended that you engage your solution architecture team to determine the most optimal infrastructure to support your customer's needs.
To keep pace with changes to third-party technologies, SAS has adopted a general policy of supporting one or more baseline major versions, subsequent minor updates, and subsequent major versions for each officially supported operating system. Only the supported baseline major versions are listed in this document. The full SAS Support policy governing third-party software can be found at https://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/baseline_plus.html.
As part of this policy, SAS strongly encourages customers to install the latest operating-system service packs.
SAS Risk Stratum: Enterprise or SAS Risk Stratum: Computation must include at least one SAS/ACCESS engine for PostgreSQL. Based upon the packaging selections of the customer, additional SAS/ACCESS engines, as well as any SAS Metadata bridges, may be added as required.
Note: The SAS/ACCESS engines that are selected are applicable to all of the SAS Risk Stratum servers listed below: SAS Risk Stratum: SAS Risk Governance Framework Server, SAS Risk Stratum: SAS Infrastructure for Risk Management Server, SAS Risk Stratum: SAS Model Implementation Platform Server, SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server, (Distributed and Non-Distributed LASR), and the SAS Solution LASR Analytic Server, (Non-Distributed LASR only).
SAS Risk Stratum Core content is available and obtained via an external download site by customers with a current license for SAS Risk Stratum.

Co-located Data Storage
SAS LASR Analytic Server supports Hadoop data storage environments.
Use of a co-located Hadoop File System (HDFS) is optional, but it requires a supported Hadoop environment and SAS Plug-ins for Hadoop (which are included with your license). The plug-ins require additional configuration. SAS Solution LASR Analytic Server must be the same as the SAS Visual Analytics Server.
SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
SAS Risk Stratum: Enterprise or SAS Risk Stratum: Computation is deployed with the SAS internal PostgreSQL database server out of the box. The SAS Infrastructure for Risk Management and SAS Model Implementation Platform (if applicable) databases only support the specific SAS internal PostgreSQL database version they are shipped with as described below:

SAS recommends that you install SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Mid-Tier on a separate machine.
When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.
To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.
Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.
The SAS Visual Analytics Mobile Clients Apps are supported on iOS and Android devices, and on PCs and tablets running Microsoft Windows 10. You can download the apps for free from the Apple App Store, Google Play, or the Microsoft Store.

Offerings with integration to SAS Risk Stratum are not included and are separately licensed. SAS Model Implementation Platform 3.2 is approved to work with SAS Risk Stratum: Enterprise.
