SAS Enterprise Case Management is available for both distributed and non-distributed SAS LASR Analytic Server deployments. These system requirements apply to both LASR deployments. The headings below indicate whether components apply to a specific LASR deployment.
SAS Enterprise Case Management Server includes a standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice and one of the following SAS/ACCESS engines of choice:
SAS/ACCESS Interface to Microsoft SQL Server is only available for UNIX platforms and enables users in UNIX environments to access SQL Server data. In Microsoft Windows environments, you should use SAS/ACCESS Interface to ODBC to access data from SQL Servers.
SAS Data Management Standard Server includes the following software:
It also includes either a Quality Knowledge Base Locale or a SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data in the language of choice.
SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale products are included with the software order. SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data products must be downloaded from the SAS Downloads and Hotfixes site.
Java SE 6 or Java SE 7 is required.
On Windows, OpenSSL 1.0 or higher is required. The OpenSSL DLLs must be installed in the Windows system directory or in a directory that is in the system PATH.
In UNIX environments, the vendor-provided OpenSSL library associated with your host must be installed, as follows:
SAS Data Quality Standard Server includes a SAS Data Management Contextual Extraction Language Pack of choice. It also includes either a Quality Knowledge Base Locale or a SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data in the language of choice. You must select the same locale that you selected for the SAS Data Management Standard Server.
SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale components are included with the software order. SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data components must be downloaded from the SAS Downloads and Hotfixes site.
Note: This server is only required when the SAS Data Quality Standard Server is running on Windows 32-bit.
SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server includes the following two LASR components:
It also includes a standard SAS/ACCESS engine of choice.
Teradata and EMC Greenplum must use the SAS Embedded Process to achieve parallel loading. To use the SAS Embedded Process, install the appropriate SAS/ACCESS engine on the server tier.
We recommend installing SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server on a separate machine.
Note: Base SAS, SAS/ACCESS, and SAS Visual Analytics can either be installed on the head node of the commodity hardware (symmetric) or on separate hardware from the commodity hardware nodes (asymmetric). This architecture enables you to install the SAS Visual Analytics, Distributed Mode server-tier Base SAS components on Windows for x64 while working with the Linux for x64 LASR Grid.
Install SAS Solution LASR Analytic Server on the same operating system as the SAS Visual Analytics Administration and Reporting Server.
Apache Hadoop software is distributed with SAS software as a convenience. For support information, see http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/ApacheHadoopSupport.html.
SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:
The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.
SAS Enterprise Case Management Server requires 8 GB of memory.
SAS Enterprise Case Management supports the following databases:
If you deploy SAS Enterprise Case Management with Microsoft SQL Server and are using the Microsoft SQL Server JDBC Driver 3.0, be sure to apply the hotfix described in the following support note: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2652061/en-us
If you deploy SAS Enterprise Case Management with Oracle, SAS recommends that you use Oracle Enterprise Edition for optimal performance and scalability. This edition allows you to leverage advanced tuning features such as bitmap indexing and data partitioning. Oracle Standard Edition is a subset of Oracle Enterprise Edition and lacks features required for tuning high-volume databases. Consult with your Oracle licensing representative for a complete list of available features.
If you deploy SAS Enterprise Case Management with PostgreSQL, you must use version 9.2-1002 of the jdbc jar file.
When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.
To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.
Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.
SAS Enterprise Case Management Mid-Tiers requires 8 GB of memory.
SAS Data Management Standard Studio includes a SAS Data Management Contextual Extraction Language Pack of choice. Select the same language as the language that you selected for the SAS Data Quality Server. It also includes either a Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice or a SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data of choice.
SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale components are included with the software order. SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data components must be downloaded from the SAS Downloads and Hotfixes site.
SAS Visual Analytics Mobile Clients (SAS Mobile BI) are available for the Apple iPad and Android tablets via free downloads from app stores.
If you are using Internet Explorer, SAS Enterprise Case Management supports only Microsoft Internet Explorer version 11 or higher. For information about other supported web browsers and supported web browser plug-ins, see the following page: http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/index.html.
