Server-Tier Requirements

SAS Real World Evidence Server on Linux for x64

SAS Real World Evidence Server includes the following software:

  • A SAS/ACCESS Engine of choice (as available per platform)
  • Three SAS Metadata Bridges of choice, plus General Industry Standards which is included

SAS Real World Evidence Server includes a SAS Quality Knowledge Base for English (US). It also includes one of the following:

  • SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data of choice, 
  • or Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice

SAS Real World Evidence Server includes SAS Data Management Contextual Extraction Language Pack of choice. It also includes a SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice. You must select the same locale that you selected for the SAS Real World Evidence Server.

SAS Real World Evidence Server was designed to run on a Linux server with 32 cores or more, with high throughput storage and memory proportional to the customer's load and data size.

SAS Visual Analytics Server on Linux for x64

SAS Products installed on this machine:
  • Base SAS 9.4
  • SAS LASR Analytic Server Distributed Mode Component 2.3
  • SAS LASR Analytic Server Non-Distributed Components 2.3
  • SAS Visual Analytics 7.4
  • SAS Visual Statistics 7.4

Disk Space Consumed by Installed Products: 294 MB
Supported Environments:
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x (64-bit version) on the x64 chip family

SAS Visual Analytics Server includes the following software:

  • A SAS/ACCESS Engine of choice (must be the same as the SAS Real World Evidence ACCESS engine. Others are licensed separately)

It is required that SAS Visual Analytics Server be installed on the same machine as SAS Real World Evidence Server.

SAS LASR Analytic Server Distributed Mode on Linux for x64

SAS Products installed on this machine:
  • SAS High-Performance Computing Management Console 2.9
  • SAS High-Performance Node Installation 3.8
  • SAS Plug-ins for Hadoop 1.01

Supported Environments:

Use of a co-located Hadoop File System (HDFS) is optional, but it requires a supported Hadoop environment and SAS Plug-ins for Hadoop (which are included with your license). For information about supported Hadoop distributions, refer to http://support.sas.com/resources/thirdpartysupport/v94/hadoop/hadoop-distributions.html. The plug-ins require additional configuration. SAS Metadata Server

Select a platform:

SAS makes the following recommendations for SAS Metadata Server deployments:

  • a 64-bit host system
  • multi-core server hardware because SAS Metadata Server is multi-threaded
  • four or more cores for production deployments

The disk I/O performance of any server-class system should be sufficient. Memory requirements are highly dependent on the product mix and usage, but 8 GB of RAM are sufficient for most large deployments. For many deployments, 4 GB of RAM are sufficient and should be considered a minimum, unless the specific deployment is tested and verified to require less memory.

SAS Real World Evidence and SAS Visual Analytics Mid-Tier must be installed on the same machine.

Web Application Servers

When you install your SAS solution software, SAS Deployment Manager installs and configures the required web application servers and web servers.

To install these servers, select one of the supported operating systems for the middle tier.

Note: These servers cannot be installed on the z/OS or 32-bit Windows platforms.


Client-Tier Requirements

SAS Data Management Standard Studio

Select a platform:

SAS Data Management Standard Studio includes a SAS Quality Knowledge Base for English (US). It also includes one of the following:

  • SAS Quality Knowledge Base for Product Data of choice, 
  • or Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice

SAS Data Management Contextual Extraction includes a Language Pack of choice. It also includes a SAS Quality Knowledge Base Locale of choice. You must select the same locale that you selected for the SAS Data Quality Server.

SAS Visual Analytics Clients

Select a platform:

SAS Visual Analytics Mobile Clients

SAS Visual Analytics Mobile Clients (SAS Mobile BI) are available for the Apple iPad and Android tablets via free downloads from app stores.

Web Browsers

Supported browsers include Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 only. Mozilla Firefox is not supported.

SAS software may be provided with certain third-party software, including but not limited to open-source software, which is licensed under its applicable third-party software license agreement.
