SAS/GRAPH

New Functionality: SGDESIGN Procedure

The third maintenance release for SAS 9.2 includes the production release of the SGDESIGN procedure. This procedure renders graphs (SGD files) that have been created using SAS/GRAPH ODS Graphics Designer.
The preproduction version of ODS Graphics Designer was released in March 2009 with SAS 9.2. In the preproduction version, graphs were stored as two separate files: one file for the actual graph (SGD) and a second file (SGN) for the graph's icon. In the production version of ODS Graphics Designer, both files are packaged in an archive file with the SGD extension.
To preserve backward compatibility, the OLDSGD option is included in the third maintenance release. This option enables you to run SGD files that were created using the preproduction version of ODS Graphics Designer.

Post-Configuration Steps for SAS/GRAPH

When These Post-Configuration Steps Are Required

Use the following table to determine what (if any) post-configuration steps you need to complete. To determine the product release number for SAS/GRAPH, see the deployment registry report that you generated before you apply the third maintenance release. For more information, see About the Deployment Summary.
When Post-Configuration Steps Are Required
Update Scenario
Are Post-Configuration Steps Required?
You are installing SAS/GRAPH for the first time.
No
You are applying the third maintenance release, and the product release number for SAS/GRAPH is 9.21.
Yes, if you created graphs using SAS/GRAPH ODS Graphics Designer. For post-configuration steps, see How to Render Existing SGD Files.

How to Render Existing SGD Files

To render an SGD file that was created with the preproduction version of ODS Graphics Designer, use the OLDSGD option. For more information, see the SAS/GRAPH: Statistical Graphics Procedures Guide.
Note: If you do not specify the OLDSGD option, then the SGDESIGN procedure will fail, and you cannot view graphs that were created with the preproduction version of ODS Graphics Designer.
