View a Package

A package is a collection of content that has been published using the SAS Publishing Framework.

To view a package that has been published:

Access the publication channel to which the package has been published. For instructions, see View a SAS Publication Channel.

Alternatively, you can access a package directly. If a package is listed in a collection portlet, it can be identified by the icon. You can also use the search tool to locate available packages. For details about searching, see Search for Content.

The portal's package viewer appears. The package's contents are listed in the left frame, and a description of the package is in the right frame.
To view one of the items in the package, click its name. The item appears in the viewer.
When the item is displayed, you can take the following actions:
- To create a bookmark for the package and place it in your Bookmarks portlet, click Bookmark in the toolbar. For more information, see About Bookmarks.
- To create an e-mail that contains the package's URL address, click E-mail in the toolbar. For more information, see E-mail a Reference to Portal Content.
- If you accessed the package by using the portal's search feature, to return to the search results, click Search in the banner. To return to the portal page that was displayed most recently, click Portal Page in the banner. (For best results, always use these links instead of the browser's Back button.)
