There are two main ways
to change the text of an axis label:

Double-click the label if you want
to modify the existing text. This action places the cursor in the
label text box. You can move the cursor with the system arrow keys
and use the DELETE key to delete characters. You can also double-click
again to select the entire label.
Tip
If you do not want a label
for the axis, you can double-click the label and delete the text.
This action hides the label.

Enter the new text on the
Axis tab of the
Cell Properties dialog box. In the dialog box, you can also do the following:

change the text properties of the
label
