Errors That Occur for VMware Users

The error shown below is the first error that you see. It indicates that you are attempting to start a SAS 90-day trial vApp on a 32-bit guest operating system.

When you click OK, the following message appears:

The settings for your virtual machine should appear as shown below. The boxed text indicates that your guest operating system is 32-bit.

Workaround for VMware

To remedy this situation, follow these steps:

1. Close VMware and, when prompted, click Power Off.



2. Highlight the vApp virtual machine for your SAS 90-day trial and click Edit Virtual Machine Settings.



3. On the Options tab, under Guest Operating System, ensure that Linux is selected. Then change the value for Version to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 64-bit. Click OK to apply these changes.



4. Ensure that the OS field now says Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 64-bit, as shown below.



5. Now start the vApp virtual machine for your SAS 90-day trial.
