DataFlux Data Management Studio 2.7: User Guide
The SAS Federation Server is a scalable data server that uses threaded, multi-user, standards-based technology to integrate heterogeneous data sources. The server acts as a hub that provides clients with data by accessing, managing, and sharing SAS data as well as several third-party relational databases.
If you have SAS Federation Server installed, you must define its connections in SAS Metadata Server. These connections are defined using SAS Management Console. When you log in to DataFlux Data Management Studio using a SAS Metadata Server that contains a SAS Federation Server connection definition, you can access that SAS Federation Server in the Data Connections pane:
For information about logging on DataFlux Data Management Studio, see Log On to DataFlux Data Management Studio. See the documentation page for SAS Federation Server for more information about SAS Federation Server.
You can deploy a DataFlux Data Management Studio job to a DataFlux Data Management Server for execution, as described in Deploying Jobs to a DataFlux Data Management Server. However, you must perform the additional configuration on the DataFlux Data Management Server whenever the job accesses data through a connection specified in a SAS Federation Server. This configuration enables the DataFlux Data Management Server to recognize and access the SAS Federation Server.
