Define a Connection for a Message Server

Use the message server connection to connect to an SAP System that is configured for load balancing. Message servers enable SAP Systems to use load balancing. The message server connection uses the message server host name, the system name, and the login group to connect to the SAP System.
Follow these steps to define a message server connection:
  1. Select the Message Server connection type on the Connection Properties page.
  2. Click Options to display the Message Server Options dialog box.
  3. In the Message Server Host field, enter the IP address or host name of the machine where the message server is running.
  4. In the SAP System Name field, enter the name of the SAP System.
  5. In the Logon Group field, enter the name of the group of SAP application servers that you are using for load balancing.
  6. Click OK in the Message Server Options dialog box to save the connection parameters that you have entered and return to the Connection Properties page.
