Define a Connection for an Application Server

The application server connection uses the SAP application server name and a system number to connect to the SAP System.
Follow these steps to define an application server connection:
  1. Select the Application Server connection type in the Connection Properties window.
  2. Click the Options button to display the Application Server Options dialog box.
  3. In the Application Server Host field, enter the IP address or host name of the machine on which the SAP application server is running. For example, if the SAP application server is running on a machine with the name hs0311, then enter that name in this field.
Note: If there is a router associated with the SAP application server host, then you must enter the router string before the SAP application server name. For example, if the router string is /H/sapgate1/S/3297/H and the application server is hs0311, then you must enter /H/sapgate1/S/3297/H/hs0311.
  4. In the System Number field, enter the system number that identifies which SAP System to access if there is more than one SAP System that resides on the same host.
  5. Click OK in the Application Server Options dialog box to save the application server options and return to the Connection Properties window.
