Preparing to Create Local or Remote Data Warehouses

Before you create a Data Warehouse, you must do some preparation, which is summarized as follows:

Metadata host configuration	Verify that you have the appropriate hardware and software to implement your Data Warehouse, as described in Metadata Host Configuration.
Hierarchy of objects	The Warehouse Environment that will contain the Data Warehouse must exist.
Global metadata	Create Contact records for the owners and administrators of the Data Warehouses and Subjects that you will create. For details about Contact records, see Maintaining Global Metadata.
Physical path	The physical path for the Data Warehouse metadata library (libref _DWMD) must exist.
