Using Site-specific Formats

Often, a SAS site establishes a set of user-defined formats that are commonly used with SAS data sets at that site. These formats are kept in a SAS data library. In order to analyze a data set that uses a format from this library, libref LIBRARY must be associated with the library.

If your site has a library of site-specific formats, you should identify that library to SAS/LAB software. Then, each time you bring up SAS/LAB software, the formats in this library will be made available to you.

To specify the location of the format library, select 'Setup' from the Locals pull-down menu. Then select 'Format catalog library' from the Setup window.
