Enter Data in a Table

This window is appropriate for creating a new data set when you have one or two grouping variables and another variable (the response) measured at the levels of those grouping variables. It is also appropriate for data entry when you have two continuous measurements for 30 or fewer data points.

Information on one grouping variable defines the rows of the table. Information on the other grouping variable defines the columns of the table. If you have only one grouping variable, you can use it to define either the rows or the columns. In the cells of the table, fill in the response variable values.

In the new data set, one observation will be created for each cell of the table that is validly filled in.
