specifies an external file. This file contains
the messages for the SAS log.

-NONEWS
-
specifies that the contents of the NEWS
file are not displayed in the SAS log, even if the file exists. This option
causes any previous NEWS specifications to be ignored.
The contents of the NEWS file are displayed
in the SAS log immediately after the SAS
header.
