The HSMAXPGS= option specifies the maximum
number of hiperspace pages that can be allocated in a single SAS session for
all hiperspaces. The value of the HSMAXPGS= option is equal to the product
of the values of the HSLXTNTS= and HSMAXSPC= options.
The value that you specify must be in the range 0 to
2,147,483,647. If you specify 0, SAS allocates 1,920 blocks of hiperspace
to the library. Check with your system administrator for any site-specific
maximum number of pages you can have.
If you are responsible for controlling resource use
at your site and you are concerned with hiperspace usage, you can use the
IBM SMF installation exit, IEFUSI, to limit the hiperspace resources that
are available to
users.
