Accessibility and the SAS^® Visual Analytics SDK

The SAS Visual Analytics SDK is a set of JavaScript APIs and web components that enable SAS Visual Analytics report content to be easily embedded in a third-party application or web page. Entire reports or individual report objects can be embedded, and the content is fully interactive.

Accessibility Features

The SAS Visual Analytics SDK supports the following accessibility features:

• Support for browser-based zoom.
• Support for a High Contrast theme override which can be enabled by the application or page author using the API.
• The ability to operate interactive controls and data visualizations using only a keyboard.
• Integration with SAS Graphics Accelerator which provides automatically-generated text descriptions and interactive sonification for some types of data visualizations.

Conformance With the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)

The conformance of applications and web pages that contain embedded report content depends on:

• The accessibility features supported by the SAS Visual Analytics SDK.
• The accessibility of the report content that was created by the report author. For the best results, report authors should follow the best practices defined in Creating Accessible Reports Using SAS Visual Analytics.
• The accessibility of the application or web page in which the report content is embedded.

The SAS Visual Analytics SDK partially conforms with WCAG 2.0 AA. Please see the SAS Visual Analytics SDK accessibility conformance report for more details. We are actively working to support full conformance in a future release. For the time being, please use WCAG technique G136 to achieve full conformance by providing a conforming alternate version using SAS Visual Analytics View Mode.
