Problem Note 20852: "Intercompany Account Errors"
When loading data into SAS® Financial Management, you might encounter the message
Intercompany Account Errors
even if there are no intercompany eliminations or automated balancing adjustments performed. The message might appear if the intercompany properties on accounts are
improperly set.
If account dimension members have the intercompany property set to
"yes", Trader values in the Internal Organization (IntOrg) dimension should NOT be set to "EXT".
To determine if an account has been designated as intercompany:
- From the dimensions workspace in SAS Financial Management Studio, select the account dimension.
- Select "Show members for this
dimension".
- In the Members window, select an account, click the right mouse
button, and select Properties.
- In the Account Details, determine if the box next to
"Intercompany" is checked; if it is, then this account has been
designated as an intercompany account.
- To quickly view this information for all accounts
- For SAS Financial Management 4.x: From the menu bar
select View > Details and then select Intercompany. Select 'OK' to return
to the Members window, where you will see an 'Intercompany' column displayed,
with a value of "Yes" or "No" for each member.
- For SAS Financial Management 5.x: Click your right mouse button in the Account dimension members window and select 'Customize Columns'. Select 'Intercompany' from the list of Available columns and click on the right arrow to move 'Intercompany' over to the list of Displayed columns. Select 'OK' to return
to the Members window, where you will see an 'Intercompany' column displayed,
with a value of "Yes" or "No" for each member.
To determine the Trader value:
- Select the Organization/IntOrg dimension in the Dimensions workspace of SAS Financial Management Studio.
- Select "Show Properties for this
dimension".
- In the properties window, select Trader.
- In the External Member field, Name should be "EXT" only if the
account Intercompany field is set to "No".
